Germany Travel Information

A leader's perspective...

Some associate Germany with the biggest party in the world, Oktoberfest. Others think of fairy tales and castles.

Whatever springs to mind when you think of Germany, it's there, ready and waiting. The spirit of Oktoberfest can be experienced everyday in the many beer gardens and beer halls across the country. For lovers of fairytales, travel the Rhine valley to see the highest concentration of castles in the world. The Romantic Road from Wurzburg in central Germany, to Fussen in the south lives up to its name. The road is dotted with many small villages, patchwork crops and of course, vineyards. It is perfect countryside for cycling. There was no shortage of inspiration for the Grimm Brothers in their native land and Little Red Riding Hood may skip around the corner at any moment.

Venice, Italy Gondolas of snuggled lovers quietly slip through inky black canals at sunset. City lights dance on the water and set romance aglow as the evening darkness draws in. In Venice , all is quieter in the evening, when the day tourists are gone and lovers are left behind to stroll through narrow city streets and across small bridges. If money is no object, lovers can sleep like royalty in the Gritti Palace , an actual doge’s palace built in 1525. By day, the Bridge of Sighs whi...
